The Shiv Niwas Palace hotel is one of two authentic palace hotels in the City Palace complex of Udaipur. Built in the early 20th century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, the Shiv Niwas Palace served as the residence of the Maharaja for a while and was later used to accommodate visiting dignitaries and guests of the House of Mewar. The crescent-shaped palace, built in the early 20th century has been meticulously maintained and converted into a Grand heritage hotel open to all.

All the rooms at the hotel are colossal and highly imperial in appearance and showcase very antique, polished and refined furnishings.
