Shiv Niwas Palace, Udaipur [India]

 

The Shiv Niwas Palace hotel is one of two authentic palace hotels in the City Palace complex of Udaipur. Built in the early 20th century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, the Shiv Niwas Palace served as the residence of the Maharaja for a while and was later used to accommodate visiting dignitaries and guests of the House of Mewar. The crescent-shaped palace, built in the early 20th century has been meticulously maintained and converted into a Grand heritage hotel open to all.

With an enviable location on the banks of Lake Pichola, and authentic royal charm and hospitality, the hotel is a must visit for the guests who long to witness a unique blend of history, luxury, striking architecture and magical dining.

The Shiv Niwas Palace offers 36 guest rooms categorized as:

Deluxe Rooms: Comes with a bedroom with a balcony and ensuite bathroom.

Terrace Suites: Comes with a sitting area and a bedroom with a balcony and ensuite bathroom.

Royal Suites: Bigger and spacious than the Terrace suites, the royal suites come with a sitting area and a bedroom with a balcony and ensuite bathroom.

Imperial Suites: These luxurious and spacious suites come with a sitting area, a dining area and a bedroom with a balcony and ensuite bathroom.

All the rooms at the hotel are colossal and highly imperial in appearance and showcase very antique, polished and refined furnishings. Each guest room has a unique amazing décor, period furniture, king-size bed, and every other world-class facility. The walls of the rooms and suites are adorned with and portraits of the royal family.

Paantya: It is the all day multi cuisine restaurant which serves Rajasthani, Mughlai and continental dishes.

Panera Bar: The Panera bar is well known for serving high quality liquor of Indian and foreign origin, with a wide selection of snacks.

The Palki Khana: The Palki Khana or the Pavilion for Palanquins is a European-style café offering light snacks, lunch and dinner in a relaxed and informal ambience.
