Sherbagh is an authentic, luxurious tented jungle camp, nestling in verdure, on the borders of the world renowned Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. Emulating the style of luxury camping that was the norm during the heydays of the British Raj, the camp has an African-style safari atmosphere, with communal tea and drinks around an evening bonfire, allowing fellow guests to compare notes and tales of the days events and sightings. The camp feature intimate tents with 1920's style rosewood and teak campaign furniture custom made for the camp and are arranged in a semi-circle around a garden and tented pavilion.
It is located just a few minutes from the gates of Ranthambhore National Park, The Sherbagh is ideally situated for game drives and excursions into the finest habitat in the world to see tigers in the wild.
Sher Bagh offers guests 12 luxury double-bedroom tents with their own little verandahs and en suite bathrooms. Designed on the 1920's safari accommodations preferred by the princess and Grand Seigneurs of the time, each tent is furnished with 19th century "campaign style" furniture hand-crafted in Rosewood and Teak. The Tents at Sherbagh can be categorized as :
Luxury Tents : These are the standard tents at Sherbagh and comes with a bedroom and a verandah. These tents are furnished with all the basic facilities like television, telephone etc.
Luxury Suite Tent : These are larger than the luxury tents and have their own private walled-in garden, a private Jacuzzi and open-air Shower.
Royal Suite Tent : These are largest of all the tents, they have a private external area within grassed walls with chairs and cots under the trees and a private heated swimming pool.
Each of the tents at Sherbagh comes with a private butler and is furnished with all modern facilities like telephone, television, Internet, and room service.
The Sherbagh has a seprate dining tent that serves a multicuisine menu. Many dishes at the restaurant is prepared from fresh produce just picked from the camp's own organic vegetable and herb garden. Throughout the winter season, a campfire is lit and a bar set up in the open for a night of star watching and alfresco dining.
The camp also offers numerous quiet spots for private dining.
Visit to Ranthambhore Fort and Ranthambhore National Park : The main activity at Sherbagh is the game drives in the Ranthambhore National Park’s. Daily morning and afternoon safaris with a licensed jungle guide are organized in the park.
The guest can also enjoy an excursion to the Ranthambore fort with a camp-arranged guide. The fort has wonderful views over the park and Lake Padam Talau.
The other activity is a visit to the nearby Dastakari Kendra women's co-operative.
Cooking Demonstration : The camp also organises a walk through the camp’s organic garden and informal cooking/ baking classes for the interested.
Spa : The camp also boasts of a Jungle Spa offering aromatherapy massages and clothed shoulder, hand and foot, or head massages. In-room treatments are also available for guests.
