Orange County Resort is an ecological wildlife resort in Kabini that subtly blends contemporary luxuries with environmental sensibilities. Orange County has 37 huts categorized into:
Pool Huts: The Pool Huts are designed as a traditional Kuruba style tribal huts and features a living room with inner courtyard, bedroom and en-suite bathroom in addition to a sit out and private courtyard with plunge pool.
The Jacuzzi Huts: The open courtyard style Jacuzzi Huts features a living room with inner courtyard and a comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom . The highlight of the Huts is a personal open-to-sky Jacuzzi.
All the huts are air-conditioned (only bedroom) and are equipped with all modern facilities including French press coffee maker, electric Kettle, hairdryers, electronic safes, TV and telephones. All rooms come with modern attached bathrooms which have separate showers and bath tubs.
Kabini has two restaurants offering cuisines that are as varied as they are imaginative and memorable. . The two restaurants at Orange County Resort, Kabini are:
Honey Comb, named after the honey gathering Jenu (Honey) Kuruba tribe,is the fine dining multicuisine restaurant at the Orange County. With lovely location overlooking the Kabini River the restaurant serves a variety of international and regional cuisine.
The Kuruba Grill is a speciality restaurant, dedicated to Kebabs and Grills and serves up platters of their best specimens in a serene setting overlooking the River Kabini.
Apart from the restaurants, Kabini have some wonderful private dining spaces for intimate dining. The guests have the options of Riverside dining by the waters of the soulful Kabini river or they can choose a dinner on a candle light cruises floating on the waters of the Kabini.
At Orange County, all the activities have been designed around the uniqueness of the location and the local culture, and afford you the chance to exercise both your mind and body.
Boat Safari / Jeep Safari - The resort offers a game drives in the Nagarhole national park either by a jeep or a boat safari. The Nagarhole National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife including large herds of wild elephants , leopards, sambar, boar, wild dogs, chittal , dear and the elusive tiger . Guided Night trails are also organized in areas outside the resort and by the Kabini’s waterline where one can encounter the fascinating nocturnal world of beetles, spiders, owls, moths, lizards and even plants.
Coracle ride on River Kabini - Guests can also take coracle rides along the Kabini River and enjoy birdwatching tours.
Evening activities - Every alternate evening, a troupe of Kuruba tribal dancers performs their traditional dance around a campfire, to the accompaniment of two wooden drums and one wind instrument. A Documentary on wildlife is screened every other evening in the Check-in Lounge to open the mysteries of nature.
SPA - Orange County has an Ayurvedic Spa named Vaidyasala which offers various rejuvenation and therapeutic treatments to its guests.
