Located in the western periphery of the Chitwan National Park, along the banks of the Rapti River, Barhi Jungle Lodge is a high end eco lodge nestled in a forested patch of 12 hectares. The finely constructed lodges is inspired by the local Tharu villages and blends effortlessly with the surrounding environment and sets a high standard in eco operations.
The ambient outlook and thoughtful interiors of the lodge give a stunning insight into the aboriginal Tharu culture of Nepal interlaced with wilderness of Chitwan.
The lodge offers 35 rooms built as individual as well as two-in-one private villas. The rooms can be categorized as:
Deluxe boutique rooms: The deluxe rooms are standalone cottage having a bedroom with spacious bathroom with cubical shower room or bathtub. Each room opens to a private balcony with panoramic views of the river and National Park.
Suite: The suite room is an up-class private villa. The suite has two bedrooms- each with a dining room and a private bar. The rooms open to a private wooden terrace that extends to a private campfire place and a private swimming pool. The floor to ceiling windows opens to the river ahead. The suite comes with a private butler.
The rooms here are well furnished with 32’’ LCD satellite TV, bathrooms with all necessities and individual climate controlled inverter air-conditioning & overhead fans. Each guest room features a décor with a blend of contemporary and traditional Nepali Furnishings, indigenous elements such as used wood, bamboo, elephant grass and animal arty-crafts.
Turtle Deck is an all day dining multi-cuisine restaurant at the hotel. The restaurant specializes in continental and authentic Indo-Nepalese cuisines and uses organically grown healthy products.
Tiger’s Den is a well equipped bar at the hotel that serves selection of spirits- aperitif, wines and liqueurs. A classic collection of international white, red and sparkling wine is available at the bar.
The Barhi Jungle lodge offers many experiences to the guests in form of :
Elephant Briefing: Barahi Jungle Lodge has four pampered and obedient elephants. The guests gets an opportunity to mingle and interact with these massive animals by feeding and riding them. In the end, the guests may go for an Elephant Bathing Session.
Nature Walks: The lodge organises early morning and evening nature walks into the Chitwan National Park with a naturalist. The peak game hours are selected for easy spotting.
Canoeing: Narayani, Rapti and Reu River merge to form Narayani River a few kilometers away from Barahi Jungle Lodge. The guests can experience canoeing towards a confluence of three rivers for sundowner.
Bullock Cart Village Visit: The lodge arranges for a bullock cart ride to experience the life of locals in a village of Andrauli.
Jeep Safari: Guided Jeep safaris into the core area of Chitwan National Park to spot various birds and animals (can count on Rhinos) in their natural habitat is organized by the lodge.
The Spa: The hotel has an in house Spa that comprises of 3 single massage rooms 1 couple massage room and 2 separate wet sections for men and women. The spa offers therapy ranging from a relieving Ayurvedic oil massage to Thai massage and incorporates all the techniques of traditional and modern massage systems. The products and essential oils used are all best quality organics.
Cultural performances: The lodge organizes daily tharu dance performances in the evenings. Juggling and flaming can also be arranged on request.
