Luxury Trains
The Palace on Wheels is a pioneer among the luxury trains of India. Launched to promote tourism in Rajasthan, the train covers several important tourist, wildlife and heritage sites across Rajasthan along with the most popular destination of Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal.
The Train has 14 fully air-conditioned coaches, each a combination of 4 twin bedded chambers or saloons equipped with all modern facilities, a mini pantry and a lounge to relax and socialize with fellow travelers. Named after former Rajput states, the coaches decor represent the aesthetics and interiors of the royal past of each state. The train has two lavish restaurants "The Maharaja" and "The Maharani" with a Rajasthani ambience serving palate tickling Continental, Chinese, and Indian and Rajasthani cuisines. The train also boasts of a well stocked bar offering the choicest of sprits of Indian and international brands. Each coach also offers a good collection of books to choose and a satellite phone to help the guest’s communicate anywhere in the world from the train.
