Deluxe Ocean View Rooms : Deluxe Ocean View Rooms are spacious than Premier Garden and Premier Ocean View rooms.These rooms have a bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and separate oval bathtub. The room also has a balcony with daybed and dining furniture and a view of the Indian Ocean.

Garden Pool Villa : Overlooking the garden, these villas have a master bedroom with king size bed, daybed, a work desk and ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and separate oval bathtub. The villa also features a living area, a large outdoor terrace and a private plunge pool and sunbeds.

Ocean View Pool Villa : Overlooking the Indian Ocean, these villas have a master bedroom with king size bed, daybed, a work desk and ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and separate oval bathtub. The villas also features a living area, a large outdoor terrace and a private plunge pool and sunbeds.

Beach Pool Villa : Located on the beach, these villas have a master bedroom with king size bed, daybed, a work desk and ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and separate oval bathtub. The villas also features a living area, a large outdoor terrace and a private plunge pool and sun beds.

Two Bed Room Garden Pool Villa : Overlooking the garden, these villas have a master bedroom with king size bed and a second bedroom with a twin bed. Both the bedrooms comes with an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and separate oval bathtub. The villa also features a living area, a dining area, a butler pantry, a outdoor terrace with outdoor dining furniture and a private plunge pool with sunbeds and outdoor shower.

Dining

The dining venues at the hotel are :

Journeys: Overlooking the pool and the Indian Ocean, this is an all day dining restaurant featuring Sri Lankan, Middle Eastern, Asian and international cuisine.

II Mare: Perched on a cliff edge facing the ocean, this is the Italian specialty restaurant and sea food restaurant, open only for dinner.

Verele: This is the beachside restaurant specialising in Teppanyaki inspired dining with Sri Lankan flair (opening from April 2016).

El Vino: Open only for dinner, El Vino specializes in mediterranean and tapas style creations with impeccable wine pairings.

Poolside Bar: Located by the Pool, this is the cocktail bar serving delicious refreshments all day long with a casual menu of snacks and light bites.

Lobby Lounge: Featuring a south Ceylon colonial decor, the lobby lounge serves a variety of boutique and single estate teas with freshly baked scones and homemade local fruit jams.

Apart from this the hotel offers private dining at a range of intimate settings.

  • Excursion to Galle things to do in Galle, include meeting descendants of the original merchant families, experiencing the spice trade first hand with glimpses back in time to the colonial Ceylon era, and finding out how Asia’s largest fort was created.

  • Excursion to Rekawa Turtle Conservation Project to join the turtle watching volunteers at night patroling. The volunteers patrol the beach at night to protect the mother turtles whilst they lay eggs, as well as helping to collect the eggs which are then cared for at the conservation project’s hatcheries, until the baby turtles are born and released back into the ocean.
  • Excursion to Mulkirigala Rock Temple, famous ancient monastery, situated on a 210 metre high rocky hillock, a few minutes inland of Tangalle.
  • Excursion to Bundala National Park that is home to more than 150 bird species, including winter migratory birds and large flocks of flamingos.
  • Excursion to Handunugoda Low Country Tea Plantation, a 200 acre estate of tea, rubber, cinnamon, pepper and coconut plantations that also features a working museum and a tea factory with many machines that are over 140 years old.

  • The resort has bikes that can be hired to explore the local area, passing beautiful temples, bustling local markets, sweeping golden beaches and village life.
  • The resort organises a richly interactive culinary experience. The guests get an opportunity to take a guided tour of a fruit and vegetable market and a fishing port, for an authentic taste of local life. Later the guests can choose from a menu of traditional island recipes and learn to create their favourites in a step by step cooking class in the luxurious surrounds of the resort.
  • The resort has a spa that specializes in ancient spa therapies from Sri Lanka and across Asia, as well as the most popular western techniques.The spa features 4 double treatment suites, 4 single treatment suites, beauty salon, facial treatment room and a relaxation area.
  • The Anantara has a Surf Centre by Tropic. The surf offers lessons and experiences in surfing and stand up paddle boarding for all levels.
